Twisted
Confined
Alone
Dark

Put them all together and they all sound kind of weird, but actually each alone give you a lot to work with.
I like the concept of using words that are less directed toward a scene. The words that allow for artistic interpretation .

Ability can take you to the top, but it takes character to keep you there.

I would like to suggest

happiness, joy, cheerful....

loose interpretation of course... it wouldn't have to be an image of a person.

Or perhaps we could do a series of emotion...

anger
fear
joy
sadness

soooo many ways to capture these without taking a picture of a human.

I really liked NIKIMOTOs' idea of shadows, I'd like to second his choice.

I liked shadows as well! It is a word that allows for interpretation.

A good mix of technical and artistic challenges are a positive. If you think back on what makes an image "wow!" vs. "Nice" has more to do with artistic elements rather than technical elements. Sure you have to have some of each but there are plenty of "Wow!" images shot with a Holga camera ( A Camera known to suffer from many technical flaws). In my mind it's the composition, content, and emotion that makes an image rather than if it has some noise in the background, has lens flare, or is soft. In fact, each of these are tools for artistic impression.
I realize that mastering these aspects of the art are important but to use them are as a subject gives the impression that it is art in it's self.
